Today my fave red slipper broke. Oh dear!
Really liked it alot esp the color + its wedges!
Since i broke it in school, i had to go home half bare footed. Walked to the bus stop and to home on the train half shoe-less.
i know its like so "oh my gosh!" to go around half bare footed, but i felt that God was using this to speak to me, teach me.
As i was walking around like that, it occured to me that during Jesus's times, people had to walk bare footed from one place to another when they had to travel about.
I think sandals was invented then already lah, but thats not the matter, the quality of foot wear must have been worse than our present kind by alot alot.
the point is that if Jesus and his disciples had walked like that to heal, preach to those peoples he , they must have walked alot. By then, his feet would have had lots of blisters and sorts. ouch. He sacrificed so much for us, love us so much.
That no matter how far, how long the distance, how pain it is, he did it out of love for us.
Suddenly it occured to me, that if i want to be like Jesus, i had to do the same, go bare footed, sacrifice, go as a servant, feel as he felt, not caring about what the world has to say, but what God has to say.
What is all these compared to his love? his grace? his marvel?
What did i feel when i was walking about like that? i felt great. i felt that i was experiencing the joy of the lord. the lesson that was taught though this is priceless. this is part of what it takes to be different for the lord.
i still remember a bit of this song which goes
"let me see through Jesus's eyes
let me feel how he would feel
let me love as he loved and

i am not sure what is the name of this old song, but i mean it when i sing, say out the lyrics.
Lord, i mean it with all my heart.

P.s the mrt station floor at Jurong is actually quite cooling :P
